Getting up to Upper Treasure Lakes was very scenic, but also a little challenging. From Lower to Upper, it's a "use" trail that really doesn't seem to get
much use. The trail follows the creek, but we missed a critical turn at the top. We should have turned left (at one point, I actually started to go back left
but it really didn't seem right). Instead, we stayed to the right along the wall. Eventually, I realized we were too high and we had to cut across a boulder
field. Sadie didn't like that. I had to lift her from one boulder to the next quite a few times. She learned quick and would move away from the
edge of the rock before I could grab her (she didn't want to be carried any more than I wanted to carry her). This took a while and we were
exhausted when we got to camp. But what a camp. One of the best I've been to. Small depressions among the trees and out of the wind, right next
to the lake. Pretty nice. Going back, we managed to stay on the trail and it was much easier.
The lake with islands is South Lake.
Camp at Upper Treasure Lakes (the first of three - I never saw the other two).
Pictures of the same lakes, coming back down.
A strange tree.
