A winter storm (in May) came through and caught us off guard (it was predicted about a week in advance). It rained all night at our first stop at West Fork Camp and we woke to a raging West Fork River. After several valiant (read: insane) efforts to cross and continue on our route, we gave up, only to find that our return route was also impassable. Our only way out was to Red Box, which still required knee-high wading at several points. We've hike this road before (see Rincon Redbox Road).
